Cooktown Constructions base their considerable success on an ability to deliver good value and personal service to small and large clients. We commenced business in 1989 and are owned and managed by two working directors, Ian Doubikin and Garry Ehlers; both of whom possess formal building qualifications and around 35 years of practical experience in the Perth building scene. 

Cooktown Constructions is synonymous with honesty and integrity, practicality, completion of projects on time and on budget, astute business and financial decision-making, professional project management and a philosophy of delivering good service and value for money. We have experience in projects valued up to $20m, simple or complex, new or renovated and for a wide range of clients, both local and national. The team have extensive experience in property development and have maintained a competitive edge.

Cooktown Constructions offers expertise in commercial building with a strong emphasis on quality site management and safety.

Ian is a registered builder and comes from a building family with Grandfather and Father featuring in his early development in the industry. Ian has a passion for property and people and combined with a broad building knowledge has been successful in conceiving, planning and building some impressive projects over a 35 year career.

Ian's strengths in business and financial management are a cornerstone to the company's success.

Garry Ehlers is a registered builder and in the early years of his career was trained by companies such as Sabemo (formerly part of Transfield), Pindan, Keywest and Jennings Industries. Garry spent many years working as a freelance estimator and contracts administrator and also a number of years in a successful partnership in a smaller building company prior to joining Ian at Cooktown in 2005.

Garry's strengths are in the management and administration of the building process and attention to contract details.
